Terms of Service
quill-ytmusic — last updated 2 November 2026
1. What this is
quill-ytmusic is a private, single-user software tool. It is operated by its owner for the owner's own Google account. It is not a commercial product, is not offered for sale, and is not made available to the public in any form.
2. Eligibility
There is no eligibility to assess: the tool authorizes exactly one Google account, belonging to the operator. No registration, invitation, or third-party access exists.
3. Acceptable use
The tool is used only to:
- read the operator's own listening history within their own account;
- generate private playlists in that same account.
It is not used to redistribute audio, to access any other person's account, or to operate any public service.
4. Relationship to Google
This tool is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google or YouTube. It uses Google's OAuth 2.0 authorization and the YouTube Data API under the operator's own Google account. Use of YouTube Music remains governed by Google's own terms of service, which the operator accepts separately.
5. Availability
The tool runs on the operator's own hardware on an optional schedule. It may be unavailable, interrupted, or discontinued at any time without notice. No availability commitment is made to anyone, because there are no other users.
6. No warranty
The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Playlists it produces may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unwanted.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from use of this tool. Since the operator is also the sole user, this clause is largely academic.
8. Data
Handling of account data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. Termination
Authorization can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and local credentials can be deleted from the host machine. Either action ends the tool's access immediately.
10. Changes
These terms may be revised at any time. The current version is always the one published on this page, identified by its revision date.
